Conformational transitions in macromolecular interactions

03.03.2011 - 05.03.2011

2nd International Meeting "Conformational transitions in macromolecular interactions"

The DFG Graduiertenkolleg 1026 seeks to understand the nature and role of folding transitions in protein-lipid, protein-nucleic acid and protein-protein interactions (see www.biochemtech.uni-halle.de/grk1026/). On a biophysical level, we employ the techniques of NMR, X-ray crystallography and spectroscopic methods to analyse individual folding states, whose effects are then followed at both a biochemical and a cell biological level. The 2nd International Meeting seeks to provide a platform for Ph.D. students to meet and discuss latest developments in this field, as well as the opportunity for selected graduates to present their results. The following invited speakers have confirmed their participation: Jennifer Doudna (Berkeley), Jan Löwe (Cambridge), Tracy Palmer (Dundee), Andreas Plückthun (Zurich), Tom Rapoport (Harvard), Felix Rey (Paris), Carol Robinson (Oxford), Helen Saibil (Birkbeck), Dieter Söll (Yale), Thomas Szyperski (Buffalo) and Gerhard Wagner (Harvard).
